Turn your own art into animated Discord and Twitch emotes
Most emote tools animate a character they supply. This one animates yours. Pick a move, and the download is trimmed until it fits the published Discord and Twitch size limits.

What it does
Your art, not a stock character
Drop in a PNG, JPG or WebP. If it sits on a flat background, the tool removes it with a soft edge, and you can click the picture to choose a different colour.
14 moves plus your own
Bounce, headpat, hearts, angry shake, spin, wave, squash and stretch, jam, pop-in, tears, sparkle, peek, heartbeat and float. Add a caption, change the speed, or open the key-frame editor to drag position, size, rotation and opacity with six easing curves.
Fits the limits
A Discord emoji GIF at 128 x 128 under 256 KB. A Twitch set at 112, 56 and 28 px in one ZIP, each file under 512 KB and 60 frames or fewer. If a file is too big the tool trims the palette first, then the frames, and shows the final size next to the limit. If it still cannot fit, it says so.
More formats
APNG, animated WebP and a sprite sheet from 28 to 256 px, plus a warning when a loop flashes more than 3 times a second, which is the Twitch limit.
Private by design
It is one HTML file whose security policy blocks every network connection, and the header reads Offline: no network. Your pictures never leave your computer.
Measured sizes
In our Chromium run (a 400 px flat-colour character, 14 moves, 24 frames each) the Discord GIFs came out between 45 KB and 72 KB and the largest Twitch 112 px file was 56 KB. A deliberately busy 512 px picture needed the size ladder to reach 255 KB. Your art will differ, and the tool shows its own result every time.
Who it is for
- Streamers and VTubers who drew or commissioned their own mascot or channel art.
- Discord server owners who want animated emoji from their own logo.
- Artists making emote sets, with art they have the right to use.
Honest limits
- GIF and APNG only have on-or-off transparency, so soft edges become a hard edge in those two formats. Animated WebP keeps them.
- Tested in Chromium (Chrome, Edge, Brave). Firefox and Safari have not been tested.
- Animated WebP export needs a browser that can write WebP; the tool tells you if yours cannot.
- Sizes and frame counts were checked against the published Discord and Twitch limits (read 2026-10-29). The files were not uploaded to a live Discord server or Twitch channel, and platforms change their rules.
- Discord gives a size limit but no pixel size for emoji, so 128 x 128 is used. Discord animated emoji use GIF, and we do not claim APNG or WebP will animate there.
- The hand, hearts, notes and other effects are drawn shapes. The character is always yours: only upload art you own or have permission to use.
Details
- Free demo: Bounce and Hearts only, a 64 px GIF and a watermark on every frame.
- Included: emoteforge.html, a README and the licence in one ZIP.
