What the lights mean

- Hermes thinking
- Hermes running a tool, transfers
- Notifications
- Completed; system nominal (the dot)
- CAUTION: a measured condition needs attention
- CRITICAL: a verified system condition, or a refused password
The P in the corner is the PoppyOS Glyph, drawn here from the same geometry, colours and timings as the operating system. Every few seconds it plays a sample of a real PoppyOS event, such as a task finishing or a model switching, so you can see how it moves. Those are demos, not alerts.
It also answers you. Pointing at or tapping a product plays an event in that shelf's colour, and a Buy button sweeps green (nothing is bought until you finish checkout). On a phone a product lights once as it scrolls into view, and the stem of the header P fills cyan as you scroll. A page-not-found page shows amber.
It carries no data about you or your visit. If your device asks for reduced motion, it changes colour without moving.
PoppyOS
PoppyOS makes small tools that keep your data on your computer. Products are sold through Polar or Gumroad, which handle payment and sales tax.
This website sets no cookies, has no analytics or advertising trackers and runs one small script from this site only, for the lights.
Secure checkout by Polar, payments processed by Stripe. Apple Pay and Google Pay show up when your device supports them. A few older tools are sold on Gumroad, which has its own checkout.
